Fashom user Divine is a housewife & new video blogger. Read what Divine has to say about Fashion, criticism, and makeup.
Fashom: What do you do for a living?
Divine: I am a housewife and a mother of two wonderful boys ages 8 & 3. Recently, I started my own YouTube Channel MakeupByDhi because I found myself always watching makeup and fashion videos on YouTube. My channel is mostly about makeup tutorials and some fashion also. I don’t have many videos yet since I have just recently started making them.
Fashom: What’s your general sense of style / fashion like? Do you stick to a particular kind of dressing – either feminine or masculine or do you experiment with both?
Divine: For me when it comes to fashion there is no right or wrong, it is all about expressing yourself through your appearance and personality but I do lean towards the feminine side. There are times I want to have a simple yet elegant look and other times I want to put on that little black dress and super high heels for a night on the town.
Fashom: What I love about fashion?
Divine: Always remember that rules are meant to be broken especially when it comes to fashion. Be adventurous and try a new look, after all, you never know that new look may become your favorite. When it comes to showing skin always remember showing a little skin is sexier than showing too much skin, you want to leave something to the imagination after all.
Fashom: How do you deal with criticism from others?
Divine: I don’t let it bother me for perhaps they are just having a bad day or are envious of who and what I am. But if it constructive criticism such as I don’t look as good in a certain color then I thank them for letting me know.
Fashom: What was the best advice you ever received about being true to yourself?
Divine: To never be afraid to show the world who you really are and to always believe in yourself.
Fashom: Any message you would like to send out to the world?
Divine: Always be the person you are even when the world is trying to change the person you are for that is the greatest accomplishment of all. To live a fulfilling life you must always be happy with what you have.
