Sheila:”I’ve realized that it’s okay to like and wear whatever you want, I’ve gained more confidence and am a happier person.”

Meet Sheila, an aspiring blogger

dsc_3697I work part time as an Archives Assistant in a library and am also a part-time server. Although I consider myself a blogger as well, it doesn’t pay the bills (yet!)

I’ve always experimented with my style since I started to get into fashion. If you scroll through my old blog posts you will notice that my style was all over the place sometimes! Today I think I gravitate towards more minimal looks while still experimenting with casual, classy, and edgy elements. My style also changes with the seasons; I tend to dress more “girly” in the summertime.

I don’t have much experience dealing with criticism, but sometimes I do take it more personally than I should. I always tell myself that if someone says something negative about you, it’s simply a reflection of their own insecurities.

The quote “you are not obligated to be the same person you were five minutes ago” really resonates with me. I used to be very pretentious and only allowed myself to like certain clothing trends. Now that I’ve realized that it’s okay to like and wear whatever you want, I’ve gained more confidence and am a happier person. My blog, In Search of Sheila, embraces the idea of self-exploration through personal style in order to find your true self.

My biggest message to anyone reading this is to never let someone tell you not to wear something. If you like it and feel comfortable and confident in it—wear it!!
