Cara Delevingne goes bald to make a bold statement

Beauty standards are continuously molded by society – through the media, the fashion industry, by celebrities’, cosmetic lines, and more. One’s beauty shouldn’t be determined by what society has deemed as beautiful. It seems as though the world has forgotten that beauty shouldn’t be based off ones physical characteristics, especially when the standard for beauty is ever changing.

Model and actor, Cara Delevingne has decided to go bald to make a bold statement to the media about ones physical characteristics. She took to Instagram to share her reasons for shaving her hair off. Delevingne simply and beautifully stated “The more we embrace who we are as people and rely less on our physical attributes, the more empowered we become. Beauty shouldn’t be so easily defined. It is limitless.” Delevingne continued her thoughts in another posts, where she wrote “Its exhausting to be told what beauty should look like. I am tired of society defining beauty for us. Strip away the clothes, Wipe Off the make up, cut off the hair. Remove all the material possessions. Who are we? How are we defining beauty? What do we see as beautiful?”

I couldn’t agree more with Cara Delevingne’s statements. It’s time to judge ones beauty off their self-confidence, their attitude, and how they hold them selves. It’s time to not condemn ourselves to how the media says we should look. It’s time to simply love, accept, and embrace our selves.

Remember that your physical attributes don’t make you and that you’re #BetterAsIAm!
