Colors & Skin Tone: What Works Best for You?

For years, colors have been a big part of fashion. From different colors for different seasons, to Pantone’s Color of the Year, designers have made colors an important aspect of their clothes. However, while a certain color may be considered trendy or popular, is it the best color for you? Keep reading to find out which colors will best accentuate your skin tone and how to incorporate them into your everyday looks!

1. Warm. The warm skin tone is characterized by a yellow/green, or gold undertone. To really compliment this skin tone, opt for colors such as red, yellow, olive, and tan. These colors will definitely flatter you and bring your whole outfit together.

2. Cool. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there is the cool skin tone. This skin tone is characterized by a blue undertone and is best accompanied with jewel-toned colors like sapphire, emerald, and ruby, as well as lavenders and grays.

3. Neutral. Lastly, there is the neutral skin tone. The neutral skin tone is a bit harder to determine, but is best characterized by a skin tone that is a combination of both warm and cool. To best dress for the neutral skin tone, try colors such as rose, peach, pastel blue, and off-white. These colors will bring out both the warmth and coolness in your skin tone.

We hope these suggestions helped you in your quest to find the perfect color for your skin tone! However, while it’s always fun to try out new shades, it is also important to remember that you are not limited to wearing specific colors just because of your skin tone.
